Fresh strawberries with Petit Beurre cookie crumble

The Petit Beurre cookie was first made by Louis Lefèvre-Utile in Nantes, France. They are a delicious very delicate butter cookie.

Today, my vision was to make some of these delicious, buttery cookies to serve with some fresh strawberries that are in abundance right now in My Imaginary French Village.

I found what sounded like a good recipe by Amanda Hester on NYT food.  Nothing against the recipe, but today for me it did not turn out as plannned.  The problem was I could not get one cookie off the cookie try without it crumbling like sand. I tasted the crumbles and they were great! Not being one to get discouraged, I just decide to serve the crumble over the strawberries. It was a huge hit!

I will try the cookies again! Not one that gets discouraged, I am one to keep trying and trying. I’ll let you know what happens!

Á bientôt,
Jane

  1. The crumble idea looks great and is a great topping to fresh strawberries. My Imaginary French Village turns out great treats even if not as planned
